Weekly Gratitude, New Year’s Edition

Happy New Year and welcome to 2010. So far, it’s been great. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the rest of the year continues to go as well.
This week, I was grateful for…
- An unexpected and very welcomed five-day holiday weekend; though I was prepared to work for the whole week (save the for holiday), it was nice to get a bit of a break;
- An unexpectedly quiet, relaxing and restorative New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day; now that I’m feeling better, in retrospect I can see that getting sick was exactly what I needed;
- Having time to myself, to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, without anyone else to consider, even for just a short time;
- Rediscovering some of my favorite books and television shows in a new way;
- My family for understanding that I needed time alone and not bothering me about joining in when I didn’t want to; and
- The chance to celebrate my brother B’s engagement; it’s a wonderful start to the new year and I’m looking forward to having a new sister-in-law.
